  Theft of Reminiscing

  so i'm now at the developmental stage of adulthood when my peers and i are beginning to reminisce about our childhoods.

  if you've ever taken developmental psychology, you know the importance of reminiscing.

  yesterday i went to an event about something retro and participants were really nostalgic and just really enjoying themselves.

  At what age does a JW become incapable of accepting the truth about the truth?

  Teenage JWs commit suicide. Do I bear bloodguilt for them? Do YOU?

  Is there ANY point at which a person becomes solely responsible for their own self-damaging actions?

  Telling a person TTaTT is not pulling the trigger on their gun or opening the valve on their helium tank or making them swallow barbiturates.

  The reason I disagree with that policy is two-fold:

  1. IGNORANCE is not bliss. It is always possible that the senior citizen JW will APPRECIATE TTaTT, even though such truth destroys their former illusions.

  2. The WATCHTOWER wants nothing more than to seize the assets and estates of those they have LIED to. Your plan facilitates that evil.

  i was approached by an elder about a year ago asking what i am going to do with my large collection of wt literature.

  he told me the society had put word out that they were collecting old literature.

  i asked him why but he couldn't give me a definite answer.

  A person I know has employed her own method of preserving these venerable old "scrolls." She visits the Kingdom Hall during meetings to do a bit of research in the Kingdom Hall library. She finishes her research and exits the KH discreetly before the meeting concludes. When she gets home she discovers that some publications sought refuge in her capacious handbag. She has "received freely" an extensive collection of "free Bible literature." I completely approve of her stealthy methodology; it is utterly harmonious with the life-saving Noah-like educational work of the WTB&TS.

  Persons who find that their trust in Watchtower dogma has left them economically disadvantaged may find this method helpful in supplementing their income - the "life-saving truths" can be further distributed to other seekers of truth via eBay or other internet vendor stalls. Jehovah jireh and all that, y'know.

  Plunder them, sack them. Take the silverware from Jah's feast-table.

  Barrold, I beg to differ with you.

  I will admit that I have not been in a KH library for more than 40 years (time flies when you're living your life!), but if you were able to find ANY of Russell's or Rutherfod's crap in ANY KH library ANYWHERE, I would be gobsmacked, stunned, and would be obligated to be your butler for a time, times, and half a time.

  Dear Barb,

  There are crackpots in the world and some of them know how to use email.

  Please don't take their criticisms to heart or let them detract one iota from your peace of mind, self-respect and joy. We have spoken many times and shared secrets that still are secret. I admire and have great affection for both you and Joe (my bravest t-shirt model, among many other things).

  I wish the OTHER Barbara - Barbara G. Harrison were still with us. You'se Nu Yawkas would be great together in panel discussions!

  Unlike some who pave the road ahead of them with promises broken and confidences betrayed, you have always been a person of integrity and conscience; that is how you were compelled to get involved in this exhausting and often thankless work.
